I’m Tony Watts Jr., and I am the Digital Designer at Compass Marketing and consulting, today’s ‘Inside Insight’ is about the importance of diversity in any creative field.
Developing a product for a diverse customer base force you to clarify WHY you do things. This thoughtful process should negate offending or disenfranchising large swaths of your market, while delivering a comprehensive and successful presentation. Having a diverse work environment sets the expectation that you will need to WORK TOGETHER to produce quality work. In a homogenous group, unconscious bias makes you feel like what you have been doing is the best way. When, in reality, finding better ideas and plans of action should always be the motivation.
If you keep these things in mind when it’s time to get creative you should see a marked improvement in project quality and public reception.
